Frequently asked questions about semester 1 exams

When are the IFSI semester 1 exams?

There is no national date: each institute sets its calendar with its university. Semester 1 starts in September and has 20 weeks of teaching, so most exams fall between December and January, sometimes as continuous assessment from November.

Which units are assessed in semester 1 under the 2026 curriculum?

The annex of the decree of 20 February 2026 does not assign units to semesters: each institute's plan does. For the exact list of your semester 1, only your IFSI's document counts.

Does this mock exam replace my institute's past papers?

No. It helps you spot your weak points on the topics most common in first year. For the exact exam format (MCQ, written questions, clinical cases), ask your institute or your class for previous years' papers.

How is a unit validated in IFSI since 2026?

A unit is validated with at least 10/20 or through compensation, which applies between units of the same semester and the same domain, for grades of at least 9/20, weighted by coefficients; domain E is excluded. Each semester has two exam sessions, and the better grade counts.

How many credits do you need to move on to second year?

Under the 2026 curriculum, you move on if you validate both semesters or at least 51 credits out of 60. Between 30 and 50 credits you may repeat the year, and below 30 credits the board may allow you to repeat.
